Government issues a second edition of the Border Operating Model

The Border with the European Union  | Importing and Exporting Goods

The document emphasises that Customs entries will be required for all goods moving to/from the EU, regardless of whether or not the government strikes a deal with the EU, and the three stage approach to re-introducing frontier controls. 

The revised Border Operating Model provides additional information regarding :- 

  • Deferred Declaration procedures and the data requirements for Entry in Declarants Records

  • Guarantees and where a waiver is applicable

  • Information on liabilities

  • Information about what is “Core Compliance”

  • The reduced data sets required for bulk entries
